Brian Grant Duff is celebrating his 40th anniversary of serving the collecting community in Vancouver and around the world.
(Part 2) 1985 Toronto and New York
The Eaton brothers move from Kerrisdale to Richards street downtown, near their father’s old company: Stanley Stamp.

The Bay Coin and Stamp department closes due to SkyTrain station development. Bill Millard and Bill Robinson work as auction lotters in the new two level Eaton & Sons auction space. My duties there include mouse trapping and auction viewing.

Hotel Vancouver
David Brown joins the Eatons expansion into antique auctions as Eaton’s Auction Galleries. At our first auction at the Hotel Vancouver, I accidentally break a Hummel figurine. Members of Loverboy attend the sale.

Loverboy
Fred Eaton and I move to Toronto to start retail and auctions there. One of the first visitors to our new premises, the former Record Peddler location on Queen Street East, is Harry Sutherland, who my maternal grandmother cared for when he was a small boy.

Eatons Toronto
The Eaton brothers take me to Manhattan and I attend a stamp show at Madison Square Garden with them. Amazing to be doing stamps in the fabled hockey rink.
