Memories from 40 years in the stamp and coin business
by Brian Grant Duff
1996: Eaton’s coin and stamp department
Eaton’s started moving the department around. Everytime we changed locations we lost a third of our clients. The Bank of Canada issued the last two dollar banknote. The last two dollar bill and first $2 coin were popular with collectors.

After a long campaign by Blair Henshaw, Canada Post issued the AIDS awareness stamp, designed by Kosta Tsetsekas, with artwork by Joe Average.

The U.B.C. Coin and Stamp Club started up, sponsored by leading local dealers, including us. Some of its alumni are still clients. Allan Steinhart died. Canadian Postal History collecting never recovered.
